Hays:Hey Jake, Welcome to the forum bro. As you're a friendly newcomer, I'll fill ya in on a couple things: 1) We have a reputation thread around here, so we can keep track of good peeps. Now of course, someone has to trade with you first for ya to get on the list, but that tends to happen after a while...which leads me to my next point. 2) Jumping on here and posting up a trade for your first post is generally discouraged. It helps to put in some time in the forums, let us get to know ya, and that way it's easier to feel more comfortable when dealing with a new guy. Now, all this said, I've done my share of trading with new guys and putting them on the Good Trader's list, but as it stands right now I have nothing to trade with you. Additionally, it's generally better to offer up at least 3+ sticks for trade - otherwise, the shipping doesn't really make sense. Either way, welcome to the forums, and I hope you stick around.
Mello Knives:Hi everyone, I am pretty new here. And pretty new to quality cigars. But I have a "Gurkha Grand Reserve" to trade for a "Zino Platinum Scepter Low Rider" if anybody is willing. Feel free to ask questions. I am an honest man. Thanks, Jake
Luko:I'll trade you some sticks for one of those knives you make.
Mello Knives: Luko:I'll trade you some sticks for one of those knives you make. How do you think I got the Gurkha's and my first humi. Let me know your thoughts. I currently have a 6 month waiting list and still filling. -Jake

I guess I'd need to figure out what your knives go for and then I could throw out some suggestions. What's an average knife, like $5, $10? Wink, wink.
Alex Williams:(and yes most of us are crazy but not as crazy as hays... Yougotta watch out for that sumbitch!)
Alex Williams:now before I place my order for one of your gorgeous knives I have to know something... Do you accept monopoly money? By the way, welcome to the forums brother! Stock around and you will learn a TON. (and yes most of us are crazy but not as crazy as hays... Yougotta watch out for that sumbitch!)
Hays: Alex Williams:(and yes most of us are crazy but not as crazy as hays... Yougotta watch out for that sumbitch!) Aright you motherf*cker....dont' EVEN start in with comments too! Lol I jest I jest...;-) Mello, regarding your questions: My preferred method of shipping is USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes. I have about 25 of the small boxes (they're free) just sitting in a closet. Throw your sticks in a ziploc, wrap em in padding of some sort, and box em up in the box (I've fit 8 or 9 sticks in a Small box). About $6 and change (with Delivery Confirmation, a general requirement around here), and it's at the destination usually within 2-3 days. Tubo wise, it's really up to you. I think a lot of guys prefer to leave the cigar as it came and store it as such, but sometimes space doesn't allow. Personally, I leave my tubos closed and in the humi as long as I have the space. The stick will age slower this way, but right now I'm not trying to age anything so it's not a concern for me. If I don't have the space, I take it out of the tube and don't trip about it - the tubo is just packaging and helps protect the stick from damage.
Hays:Oh, and bro...I started checking out your website and I noticed a couple things on your Home Page. I'm just a grammar Nazi and thought I'd point em out (just so ya know). I copied the text I saw and bolded what I'm talking about: My knives are made to be users. They are designed for practical, tactical and military use. I use the strogest(strongest) and most durable material's(materials), without sacrificing appearence(appearance) and style. Feel free to check out my galleries to get a taste of what I make. I will occasionally have ready made knives for sale on my available knives page. If there are no knives available at the time of visit feel free to sign up for my newsletter, where I will keep you up to date on available knives, special offers and up coming(upcoming) events. If you would like to know a little more about me and where i come from click my about me page. For any other question you may have you can e-mail me at jacobmello@melloknives.com or use my contact me page. Feel free to ignore me if ya want...only trying to be helpful ;-)
Mello Knives: P.S.- You must drive your self crazy being on the internet forums.
Mello Knives:Thank you Hays for the info. I had a hard time finding some rules and regs. I don't have alot to offer in here, as I am not much of an expert. The three cigar idea makes sense. As of right now I only have 4 "Grand Reserves" in my humi. And I want to hang on to three. So I might just wait untill I get my box or two from the Gurkha man himself. Other then that. Thank you for the welcome. Maybe you can answer a couple of ?'s for me. -What is the best way to ship cigars? and -Is it nessasery to keep a tubed cigar in a humi? Thanks again, Jake

jsnake:Welcome to the forums! I see you like Gurkha I am a Gurkha fanatic and have tons of them. Have you tried many of them or just a few?
Mello Knives: jsnake:Welcome to the forums! I see you like Gurkha I am a Gurkha fanatic and have tons of them. Have you tried many of them or just a few? To be honest I haven't smoked any Gurkha's yet. I got these for a partial trade for a couple of knives. The knives were giving to the owner of Gurkha for a gift. And now the owner is going to send me a box or two. So I am not sure if i like them yet. But from what I've heard they arn't to bad. The only quality cigars I've smoked until now are, whaterver Macanudo I can afford at the casino, A Don Diago, OpusX Fuente, Bahama Mama, and a Serie D. no. 3 Partagas LE Habana. I saved the rings:). Thanks for the welcome, Jake

Goldy:Alright, another MN guy! Do you do hot knife work or cold work? I am in the process of making a forge/foundry and would love to pick your brain if you do hot work.
