Socialist political correctness, at its best. This is bullshit.

    Pardon my French.

Yeah, the out of control liberal bullshit around here sucks a$$. What I don't get is, it's not a public place, it's a privately owned business. How can a ban of smoking in public places be enforced in a business that isn't public? If you don't have the money to be at El Gaucho paying for their services, they aren't gonna just let you hang around. On top of that, it's a CIGAR LOUNGE! If you don't want to be around cigar smoke, don't go to the fucking CIGAR LOUNGE! Sh!t like this really makes me think about moving out of this hippie infested state >:^(

Time to go smoke something good and calm down a bit...

Because in NY they make their own laws as they go by LOL...on a serious note, agree with what you say Duder. Amazes me how they get away with this stuff.

Outrageous! Vote Libertarian. This is a disgusting abuse of POWER. I'm ashamed of what's happened to the Land of the Free.

This is just asinine. Ironically, isn't there a hemp-fest in WA, where people get together for a few days and smoke hemp (and/or weed)?

You are correct, they actually do that each year for 2 days in the summer in Olympia @ or near the state capital. Yep the state is fine with maggot-infested hippies smoking weed in a group in public, but God forbid a Legal product like a premium cigar be allowed to be smoked in a privately owned cigar lounge.
  • JCizzleJCizzle Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 1,910
That is just wrong. I'll admit I did notice the maggot-infested hippie population when I visited Seattle...

The El Gaucho Cigar Lounge in Seattle closed years ago. I was surprised to hear that the one in Tacoma was still open. Seattle likes to think of itself as a progressive city...but only with things that fit their agenda.

I wish we had liberal "hippies" in Chicago...... we're over-run with over-educated unemployed hipsters, liberal do-gooder yuppies, and bottom feeding welfare moochers. A few harmless, pot-smoking, patchouli oil stinkin hippies would be a nice change of pace around here.

I get really sick of hearing everyone bash on liberals because of this smoking thing. Most liberals I know don't care about smoking in bars and such so just stop it - oh and I belong to a lot of groups too and they get mad over this type of thing too. I wonder what regulations were not done or followed. In the link it doesn't specify. I do agree though, if a cigar shop wants to have smoking then let it. I feel the same thing with bars. If a worker doesn't smoke then don't work there.

Well a lot of people around here are tired of you calling us retarded because we don't agree with your view of how things should be in the world. So while you can sit here and chastise everyone else around here for bitching about liberals, I think you need to take a look in the mirror and deal with your own intolerant views. I may disagree with most Democrats, but I don't think they have a mental disorder or feel the need to bash them personally. It's just a different point of view... What right do you have to tell ANYONE to stop saying how they feel about something after your recent ridiculous outburst?

Makes me so glad to live in Nebraska. A year after they put in a smoking ban they went and changed the laws making it ok for cigar bars to allow smoking. Though I may not always agree with them, yay for red states

Not to throw gas on the fire, but I live in Ithaca, NY, also known as Berkely East. We are known as being so far left, we defy gravity.

We have an area known as the Commons, it is a downtown OPEN pedestrian mall. Our City Council just voted to ban smoking on all areas of the Commons, doing away with two very limited smoking areas.

At the rate businesses are leaving the downtown area, this is not going to help. This means that neither shop owners or customers can smoke anywhere near their businesses.

I was at the Indian Resort/Casino last night and enjoyed a cigar at the bar. Ahhhh, freedom. The way it used to be in the U.S.A.

Same laws in Phoenix, however you can still smoke in cigar bars. Back home in TX you can pretty much smoke anywhere. Usually if people are smoking cigarettes in a bar and I light up a stick, they'll either leave or move to another table. :-D

All over, kind of. Do you know where Richardson is?
  • PuroFreakPuroFreak Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 4,132
Yea I know Richardson very well. My grandparents used to live there and I spent every summer staying with them growing up. I live in the Dallas area actually.
  • JCizzleJCizzle Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 1,910
Very cool. I've never lived in Dallas proper, but I have spent a lot of time in the area as well as Austin, San Antonio, Killeen, and even El Paso (my mom went to UTEP). I plan on settling down again in Austin or Dallas whenever I get back to the States.
  • PuroFreakPuroFreak Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 4,132
Well if you settle in the Dallas area hit me up. There are a couple of us from the forums in the area. GarenB and I hang out and smoke fairly often around here and know a few great cigar shops.
