San Andres Moron maduro?
Russ55
I just woke up, and haven't had my coffee yet, but am I missing something here? I was just reading the cigar newsletter and saw this "San Andres Moron maduro" referenced several times. Is there a tilde, or accent mark missing, or is this a typo? It can't actually be called that? Can it?

haha yeah it must be an accent thing, Morón. It's the name of a town in southern Spain and I'm sure it's the name of some Central American town or valley where they grow the tobacco too. It's funny, I've seen Morón used so often as a proper name (flamenco aficionados will know why!) that I didn't even realize what was wrong when I first read your post

I generally like my Maduro to be a little smarter than that...LOL. Seriously, I've seen it in print many times as 'morron' if memory serves. I think it pertains to an area in Mexico. 'Course, you know how memory is with us oldfarts (new demographic category).

I just Googled it and learned that it is, indeed, Mexican. I also learned that the Montecristo Reserva Negra uses a wrapper of Morron maduro, as do agoodd many other cigars.
Amazing what I learn on this forum.
