I was looking to purchase a newair 28 bottle wine cooler to convert to a humidor. Can anyone tell me if it is necessary to install fans to circulate the humidity or if I place beads in different areas of the cooler this will suffice? Thanks for the assistance.

A ton of folks use fans. I don't, never had an issue. I have about 4lbs of KL in a tyvek USPS bag sitting in the center and I haven't touched it for over a year. It's solid 62-63 at any point in the winedor, and I have a couple hygro's in it. By all means, if you want to wire them up, go for it. I do think it is important to not stuff it full and let the boxes have some breathing room. The internal fan will circulate enough IMO.

Thanks for the info! Looking forward to having something just for aging cigars. I think this is cost effective. Thanks again.

It is, and you can slow aging at the 60 degree point as well. I just find the stable environment as a big plus.
