there used to be a bar in the NewYork that was called The Olio Room. it had a fireplace in the middle and a 15ft tall set of shelves full of liquor. don't know if it's still there.

You can smoke and enjoy drinks at all of the casinos. The cigar store/bar in New York New York is called Hamiltons. Very nice place. Also, for Opus and God of Fire along with a house blend you can only get at the physical location visit Casa Fuente in Ceasers Palace. Its expensive but worth checking out. Nearly all of the major casinos has a cigar shop with the stores. When are you going? I'll be there Feb 20th - Feb 26th.

The Paris has a nice piano/cigar bar. I like where this is going though.....I will be in Vegas in April for a week.

Vegas is just awesome all around. Bring your own cigar, play a little in the casino, and some super hot women will serve you an alcholic beverage of your choice. Toss a buck their way per drink and kick back! I'll be back in Nov as well for the Big Smoke.

Is the big smoke worth the price?

This will be my first time at the Big Smoke. I figure its one of the things all cigar enthusiasts should do atleast once and since its in Vegas makes it more attractive to me. I go to Vegas about 2 times per year!

+1 for Casa Fuentes! Best Mojitos in town and a cool place. Yes, the prices are high but not any more than anywhere else in Vegas. Vegas is the most cigar friendly town I have ever been to. You can smoke just about anywhere.

So, I've looked everywhere. Where can I find more info on buying tickets for the Big Smoke 2010?

The tickets are not on sale yet but you can look at Big Smokes from the past years. You can google or go to cigar aficianado. C.A. does the event.

Thanks. I found out it's gonna be held November 12-14. So, I guess its time to start browsing for a Hotel Stay.

So I looked up Napoleon's, and it looks like my kind of place! My question, however, is this: nothing I've found in the official information mentions a word about cigars - it's all about champagne. Has this place changed from when you guys were there, or is there something I'm not seeing?

    From The Las Vegas Sun

    Las Vegas Sun:

Napoleon’s is one of the most charming lounges on the Strip – a dimly lit, plush retreat where cigars and Champagnes take center stage
But it was last updated Aug. 3 2009

    And, from Vegas.com
    Vegas.com:

If champagne is just not your style, Napoleon's has a large and diverse drink menu with wines, cognacs, ports, martinis and other specialty drinks priced from $7.50.

    Dueling pianists face off nightly
... dueling pianist!! ha ha ha ha... (wipes tear)

But 4 reals, that sounds like a pretty shnazy joint. Killer to catch a drink , a cigar, some snacks and a show.

I don't know just yet. I'm not the one that's setting up the trip.....just along for the ride. I like to stay somewhere in the middle of the strip that's inexpensive. Not in the room for that long anyway. Where are you staying?

Thanks for all the good suggestions and dialog. I am new to this forum, so I really appreciate it.The reason for the question-I was in Vegas about 6 months ago-stayed at the Wynn. I went to one of the main bars (I think it was Parasol Up?) and was told that there was no cigar smoking at the bar-can you believe that in Vegas?? Cigarettes were ok, tho.....sucked. I stayed at the Mirage last time-about three months ago (wouldn't reccommend it by the way) and they have a patio called the Rhumbar with a nice cigar menu (pricey, of course) good drinks and hot waitresses. JZ-I'm headed down to Vegas 2/9 for a couple of nights....can't wait to get out of winter. I will definately check out Napoleons and Casa de Fuente....thanks again.

I'll be there 2/20 - 2/26. Everyone going should take some pics of them smoking at different places in Vegas and post them since it sounds like a bunch of us will be there in the next few months!

That sucks about the Wynn experience. I really don't go to the bars in casino's regularly I generally opt for the sports book. Man it's the best place ever for me; great sports, a nice stick, and generally depending on season (NFL is the best) they have great drink specials.

A little off of what you were looking for but their is a Davidoff store in the shops at Mandalay Bay if you want to pick some of their products up!

Hey I was wrong we are going April 6th to the 10th.....but I might go a few days before or stay a few after depending on my work schedule......so maybe my last day & your 1st day we could smoke.

I've never been questioned anywhere in Vegas when I've had a cigar. It's as cigar friendly a city as I've ever been to!
  • Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 827
The funny thing is that the City does have a smoking ban in place. It bans smoking on all school property, grocery stores, and in all restaurants. Smoking will be allowed in places where food is not served. I've never had an issue either, but I guess I havent smoked at the mentioned locations.

I smoked cigars at the bar in the Luxor and had no problems (they also had some of the best mojitos that I've had in a while). It was a good time and the only time that my fiancé smoked a cigar with me. I noted the places brought up in this post and if anyone else knows some other good cigar friendly places in Vegas let me know as I'm trying to plan a trip down there this March.

Thanks to all BOTL's, I'll be happy to step up and do some extensive scouting when I am down there next week. It's a tough assignment, but somebody's got to do it......

Read the reviews on yelp -- just checked and someone went there on 12/19/2009 and said that people were hesitant to enter due to the cigar smoke - Hopefully they are still allowing it into the new year
