What does it mean when a cigar is "Canoeing" ?

I've heard this term a few times but can't figure out what it exactly means. Someone please explain this to me.

    I've understood the term to describe a situation where a cigar will burn much faster down one side and lead to an almost hollowed out look, much like the way a canoe is formed by burning out a hollow in a log. Of course if I'm wrong here, I am more than open to correction, but that is how I've understood it, essentially it would be a very severe burn issue that can lead to the cigar not being smokable.

    what that link calls "inward burn" is what i thought tunneling was.


    Be careful if you explore the site i just linked to. There are a few bits of info that are wrong. (especially if you get to the point where they are talking about plume (bloom))
