Just wondering if anyone here had smoked any of these. I got one in a sampler from my brother for Xmas and I haven't heard much about them... Anyone here know what I can expect out of this one?

they're made by davidoff and highly praised. I haven't tried one yet though. It's been on my list for a while, so I'd be interested in what you think of it when you do get around to trying it.
-
I've never had one, either. I did have a Zino Platinum Sceptre, and wasn't impressed.
-
Agreed. Though I will say that with a lower price, it would rank a little higher for me. I thought it had a good flavor profile and it was constructed well, but it costs too much for a fairly average cigar in my opinion.urbino:I've never had one, either. Yeah, I'd go along with that. Good construction and good flavor, but not nearly enough of the latter to justify the price. Which vitola did you have?
-
The Grand Master, which is a 5.5 x 52 parejo. If memory serves, you had the perfecto?
-
Yup. That's a helluva memory you've got, there.
-
haha, I don't have quite as many years of memories under my belt, it makes it a bit easier to remember little things.
-
I tried a few while in Vegas since Davidoff are in every Casino and for the price I was too happy with it. I thought the Zino shortstory was ok, but then again the price.

You calling Urbs old? Damn.j0z3r:haha, I don't have quite as many years of memories under my belt, it makes it a bit easier to remember little things. -
Zino Short Story? I'm not real familiar with the Zinos but The Short story is from A. Fuente's Hemingway line.deaDKennedys:I tried a few while in Vegas since Davidoff are in every Casino and for the price I was too happy with it. I thought the Zino shortstory was ok, but then again the price. -
I believe with Zino it's called a "Shorty." Not a short story.
-
ahh!

In the most respectful way I can, mind you.madurofan:

TheseFilthy Hands is younger if i recall correctly....
if you are unimpressed with davidoff or zino its probably because of how they blend.
the blender (his name escapes me now) is known for mellow and subtlety. Its a very complex cigar if you have Palate for it. many complex flavors going on but very "quiet"
the problem with this is that most people want to pick up a cigar that has knock you on your ass flavor. I know that i do. I want a good full bodied smoke with very pronounced flavors. I want the flavor to walk up and smack me in the face then ask if i want some more.
Davidoff wont do that. However, i still wanna try one. ... Mainly because i want to know if i can taste anything in there. who knows, maybe ill see what they are talking about. -
I'm the same way, I prefer a med-FULL bodied smoke, but every now and then I like something a little more tame. I do like the Ashton Classic and the Fuente Candela I had a while back was really good! I'm still holding onto that Zino for a night when I want something nice and mellow to relax with. Should make for a pleasant evening sometime in the near future.kuzi16:TheseFilthy Hands is younger if i recall correctly....

Davidoff has some fuller bodied cigars though I doubt anything like like an illusione or camacho. The issue I've always had with them, aside from the attitude of most Davidoff smokers, is they all have a heavy leather, musty flavor that has just never apealed to me.
-
You just aint high class enuff to enjoy sumthin like one of them there fancy Ceegars like a Davidoff!madurofan:Davidoff has some fuller bodied cigars though I doubt anything like like an illusione or camacho. you dont like their cigars? its your fault, not theirs. your palate is unrefined.
-
Yep. I can't tell you how many times I've been told, as your palate develops you'll learn to truly appreciate a Davidoff.kuzi16:

Bull-Effin-S**T, I walked out of a B&M after being told that once, i believe i was smoking a Monte if memory serves. Anyways i just didnt like it. All this talk about Zino is makin me wanna go buy one, if i dont get california sticker shock. -
The shop I hang out at is a big Davidoff place. Most of the employees are big Davidoff smokers. Now that they've gotten to know me they don't push the Davidoffs on my as often. Thye've come to understand that its not that I don't apperciate them, its just that they aren't my cup of tea.Jetmech_63:madurofan:Yep.
