I know its only a spike, but I am brand new to hunting and this is my first deer ever! Every hunter knows your first deer is the first one you see that doesnt have spots!!!! I got a little over 50 lbs of meat after getting it back from the processor.

Congrats on your first deer. Its actually good to shoot something like a spike or doe first. My buddys first deer was a very nice non typical 13 pointer. It was a beautiful mount but now he doesnt really have much motivation to hunt any more. It was so easy the first time and he has never seen anything near that nice since, so he has no care to even go into the woods. I have shot many deer but nothing quite good enough to what I consider a Wall Hanger so my drive is still there. Good luck on the rest of your season and now you got a spike, the bucks will only get bigger from here.

Just noticed you killed that in Heard County. I lived near that area for years (Tyus/Roopville area) and went to church in Heard County (Centralhatchee) for years!

Are we looking at a before and after shot, or two different animals ?

The color stealth cam photo is the second deer I shot. Photo was taken 11/07/2011, I saw him live on 11/14/2011. Its the same deer. My buddy sent me the picture after I posted the first pic of my second deer, if that makes sense!
