I got to go to a cigar event last night. The event was down in Portland the night before and looks like Dennis had a great time also. Pete and Janny are very easy to talk to and very down to earth humble people.
They are both very humble and appreciative of their consumers.
Pete was great to talk to and very passionate about cigars and tobacco.
I had a great time. I told Janny I now need to meet Papa for the trifecta, she said he is super busy in the factory, but hopes to tour in the near future. Jose told me he is also trying to work his magic on DPG to do more events.
I bout a box of La Duena Mini Belicosa, and a box of Flor de las Antillas. I got Pete and Janny to sign my La Duena Box, and I took 1 of my boxes of Little Monsters for him to sign.
Great evening I also herfed with BigFnSteve, his bro Bill and Stad (Caleb) and his brother Oliver.

Thanks for sharing John. Garcias are really the most humble people in the cigar world IMO.

You are correct Jaime and Janny are very appreciative and humble.
Pete is a really easy going humble "ordinary" person also.

Pete was telling me that Janny won a lottery to leave Cuba and left at age 18 and worked 3 jobs to get money to send home to get Pepin and Jaime and fam out of Cuba and in to Nicaragua. From there, Pepin worked for Casa Fernandez (whatever the name was at the time) and after that, traveled up thru Mexico and hopped the turnstiles at the Texas / Mexico border and claimed asylum in the states. Pretty wild if you think about it. Now he owns a massive cigar factory and is world renowned and well respected.
