How susceptible are you to good photography?

When the photo spread over at sprint or at any online vendor is staged nicely or really flatters the cigar… when they've taken the time light it well and capture the sheen on a stick… does it influence you?

I've bought a few cigars just because of the photos posted on the "What are you smoking…" threads. I guess I'm a sucker for a centerfold.

How they frame and light the cigar does have an influence, but I'm far more susceptible to advertising when they use a stunning model, like this...

not good photography, but i am a total sucker for attractive packaging and an attractive band. For examply i would NEVER buy a Tat if it wasn't for this board, but i would be grabbing peredmo sitcks left and right because of how nice their cigars look

Very true. Marketing and packaging matters. Picked up a Foundry yesterday, which I probably wouldn't have given a second look if it hadn't had that awesome gear thingy around the band!

How about the photos that show 2 different cigars..? If you aren't up on the cigars what are you ordering..?

And how would you like to be the person who writes the captions...every cigar is a gem....must suffer from terrible headaches.

Yes, it has happened before. I see the cigars and i think "omg a cigar sounds so great right now!" Sometimes it seems as if everyone on here are just a bunch of people from companies advertising cigars so we can buy them.

Good question. That's probably where it comes down to personal preference. I'd be more likely to pick the one with the darker, oilier wrapper.

+1 and add Padron to that, mainly the standard line. Plain band and they don't really look that good.
