Driver's seat selfies?

I'm not much of a selfie fan in general (I kinda' hate 'em) but I experience a special cringe when I see selfies of drivers. I understand why people's bathroom mirrors are, by default, a popular location for selfies, but why is the driver's seat such a popular selfie spot? Don't they know how stupid that makes them look? Even if the car was not moving, it won't matter. Anyone seeing the selfie will likely assume the car was moving and they will also assume the driver's head is full of other dumb ideas as well.

Selfies are stupid. The word selfie is stupid.
I know on occasion people on here like to take a pic of themselves having a cigar. I'm ok with that. I have done it. But I know people who post nothing but selfies to Instagram/Facebook. That is so annoying.
