"Cigs" are cigarettes, not cigars. Don't mess up the language.

I've noticed a few folks refering to cigars as "cigs". Cigs are cigarettes. Always have been as far as I can recall. Never cigars. Am I right or wrong here? I want to know. Have cigars been called cigs by some people for a long time and I'm just not aware? I say this is a new parasite on our cigar vocabulary. What do you say?

I'd say that IMO, you are correct. Cigs are cigarettes and cigars are cigars. However, I guess I could see it the other way....after all, CIGARettes."Non't mess up the language" is pretty funny, though

I know what you're saying because they both start with the same letters, but I'm betting that this term, when applied to cigars is a "new" aberration.0

Non't? WTF? N isn't even close to the D on they keyboard. Haha! Yep, I'm for sure messin up the language.
Speaking of messing up the language. Seems like I eventually discover that I mispronounce at least half of the spanish words used in naming cigars. Partagas? I've been saying Par-TA-gas with the emphasis on TA in the middle. But I heard somebody on youtube say PAR ta gas with the emphasis on Par on the begining of the word. (Kinda' like saying Spartacus.) I'm guessing he's right and I'm wrong.0 -
Correct, if you want to shorten Cigar it is just Gar, not Cig.0

The correct way is actually par ta Gas, with the emphasis on the G.0

They also try to refer as "cig" in legislation. A hand rolled cigar is no where near a chemical pumped cigarette.Bob Luken:
