I will single-handedly stop "global warming" ... I'm gonna eat half the normal amount of beans I usually would eat. That'll fix it.

there's just too much real info out there regarding the lying scientists and green organizations who are in a power struggle with the traditional big businesses for control of our economy. in 200 years, are the people of the world going to remember us as the chicken littles because something was always causing our sky to fall. climates are cyclical, there was an ice age in northern europe 400 years ago. i'm not convinced that in the last 100 years, we have totally destroyed the planets ability to go thru it's cycles regularly

I read a book recently on the subject, State of Fear by Michael Crichton. It shouldn't be taken for anything more than it is, a fictitious take on the issue with some fact thrown in for good measure. But I think it did a good job of portraying several sides of the global warming debate, and if nothing else was an interesting read.

Funny how all the "Global Warming" bandwagon has now shifted to "Climate Change". Wonder where Al Gore the inventor of the internet is hiding. My guess is Mr. Rodgers Land of Make Believe.

I'd join you but it might cause an ice age and that'd really cut into smoking time.

Interesting read, I wish for once something could be a mankind issue instead of a political issue...but it appears impossible so long as places like FoxNews and other disinformation services and their pawns continue to deceive the masses.

Nice replies cabinetmaker and BStayer! I love reading so maybe I should pick up that book. Brian, what you said reminds me of Dan Brown and The Davinci Code. Dan Brown is one hell of a writer! People went nuts over that book and it is fiction. People warned me not to read it because it would alter my belief system. I laughed and told them my belief system wasn't so shallow a writer could change what I believe. I don't believe what the fictitious book was saying but it was a great story and well written.

Snake, arent your religious beliefs backed up with 1/100th (or much less) of the evidence that climate change is?

This discussion is about climate change; leave other's religious beliefs out of this. Religious beliefs have nothing to do with climate change and no one else has brought religion into the discussion. This is merely an attack that has crossed the line.

Stayer, stop policing me and telling me what to say----getting old, and I have a mother already. This was no attack, this was drawing a comparison to two "beliefs" which have some evidence of being true. The climate change has MUCH evidence, religion has none-----but is chose to be blindly followed while something that actually effects humanity is joked about. This is not an attack on a person, this is questioning of an entire mindset which I happened to ask Snake---but is not directed at him more than any other person in the same thought process.

What led me to believe that you were attacking Snake was that you used his name specifically, meaning it's directed to him and only to him. If you're not, then that's fine, maybe just address the issue rather than the person. I don't mean to police the forums and everyone would agree that I have no special authority. I just hate seeing people attacked w/o cause. Having said that, I still disagree that religion has a place in this discussion.

Thanks Stayer, sorry for coming off rough. I get along with snake, didnt mean to direct at him---just made me think of the idea. I agree religion is not the topic, but I thought of it more of 2 ideas...both considered as very questionable by many people and how people can blindly believe one or the other is interesting.

Vulchor, I think that may have been hitting below the belt. Just sayin. As for me, my religious beliefs happen to have lots of proof. Our entire calendar is based around one guys life and death. Pretty empirical proof if you ask me. With that said, this should not be the forum for religious discussions, it's far too personal for people of a like hobby like us to be talking about, or taking fire for, over the internet. It leads to E-bullying

I have made it my own personal goal to increase my "carbon footprint" as much as it is humanly possible.

Sorry for antagonistic feelings. I too was referring to a work of fiction...mine is called the bible. Much better selling than Dan Brown. If hitting below the belt is making a question about a man walking on water being born from a woman who was never "hit below the belt" herself-----then I guilty as charged. As Squirrel and I have said before, and Laker too for that matter----I will go back into hiding and just discussing the cigars while the restg bloviate about the ill will of Obama and the great savior up above.

And some of the other comments bring to mind a vision of a mechanic telling us all we better let them refill our blinker fluid or the whole damn car is going to fall apart... "Sure it's a little pricey, but it will save you in the long run."

I think everyone that prays, should say a prayer for Vulchor.
