Anyone out there know of any cigar bars out in the Sacramento area?  I really haven't been able to find much out here.  Also any good experiences with the local shops?

Always nice to meet a fellow sacramentan, even though ive been gone for 5 years lol. Im afraid you wont find any cigar bars there, or any where in california for that matter. Maybe some underground place or somthing, but never mainstream. where abouts are you in sacramento? There is a good cigar shop in old town, and one in the arden mall. I don't remember each of their names, one of them is called the briar patch. You used to be able to smoke in the one in old town, but the laws dont allow it anymore. I havn't been there in a long time, pretty sure its still there. The store in the mall is on the second level, cant be more specific than that, sorry. The one downtown is a little hard to find, you have to go through a hall attatched to another store then upstairs. There should be a sign, its not that big of an area, 10 min walking through the boardwalk should find it.

Hey jihiggs....thanks for the reply.  Doesn't seem like Sacto is the hottest spot for cigars.  I'm actually in Gold River, right by Rancho Cordova.  Anyways I've been to briar patch in arden...pretty good selection.  But about midtown, I know there are a few spots out there but haven't made it to any of them yet.  I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open.  Thanks again.

The Briar Patch in Arden is still doing it's Tuesday smoke at 4pm.  They pass out cigars so that enthusiasts can sample different types plus they offer various events (including dinners) etc that center around smoking cigars!  I was just there last Tuesday for the free smoke.  They also have different vendors come in who provide information and complimentary cigars sometimes, too.  You could call for more info on their upcoming events.

oh yes, you are right, folsom blvd. don't know if you are aware, but the two restaurants are basicaly the same. A married couple owned the business and split up. they decided to split the restaurant in half as well. she took her half and opend carolinas, his stayed the same name. adelbertos always gave a lot of guacamole, liked them better.

there are a few places, mostly roach coaches that have a few specific items that are really good but there are no spots that have really good every thing. one place has great tortas adovada, but their carnitas suck. another place has really great tacos but only their carnitas are good and so on. found a bus that was converted this past weekend, excelent tortas!! will deffinately have to go back soon.

sometimes those roach coaches are secret surprises...the best al pastor i've had was from a truck!

Haven't run across any cigar bars, though some bars do have an outside area set aside for smoking (great in the summer, the pits in the winter).  They do allow smoking inside the Thunder Valley Casino in Rocklin/Lincoln (except in the restraunts).  It is great when you are sitting at a table playing a game (hopefully making money) and there are three or four cigar smokers at the table.  Great times.

I haven't been to this shop, but I'd give them a try next time I'm in Sacto. It's the place that banned the Governator because of his support for higher tobacco taxes.

A bit of a drive, but Tobacco Republic is great!  Every time I'm there, people are sitting around on folding chairs puffing away.

It's not exactly in the Sacramento area, but if you're ever down south, in Marin County, there's a place called Telford's Pipes & Cigars in Mill Valley. They have a sitting-room with comfortable arm-chairs, some seating around the store, as well as a porch with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy a cigar. They're also one of the largest and best-stocked tobacconists I've ever seenm, with a very knowledgable and friendly staff. Definitely worth a look if you venture down south.
