This morning I was cleaning my koi pond and grabbed a coffee with a Don Benigno that i got a box of from last years trip to Costa Rica. I was Wondering if anyone has had a Don Benigno before and if so what your thoughts of the cigar is.
The Don Benigno that i got a box of was the Gran Corona. A 47 ring X 9.1 length.
The Don Benigno has a great firm construction with very little veins . The pre- draw gives it a nice earthy tone. The initial draw had a very rich earthy taste to it with some coffee and nuts. Near the half way point the smoke changes on my palate to a very rich leathery, slight earthy and an aged tobacco taste with a perfect burn, thick smoke and good looking ash. Even towards the band the cigar gives a thicker smoke output with a very clean burn. The taste is still the same a creamy leathery, aged tobacco with a very slight hint of nuts. Over all this cigar has been a very good smoke.
