Thanks guys.....When I first started I didn't know what to expect but it sure didn't take long to realize what the true enjoyment of the leaf was all about. Whether it's relaxing with some friends "lying" about the one that got away or sitting back on the patio with your ole buddy "Fuente, Ashton, Pepin", I am sooo greatful.

    A. Fuente is a hell of a guy. I just love sitting outside and relaxing with a smoke and a drink. Doesn't matter how bad of a day I have had, a good cigar will make all my worries go away. And it's also good when I can enjoy a cigar with a good friend. But just love everything about cigars.

I't pleases me to see that I'm in very good company. It seems that most of us are reading this thread and thinking " Wow, that's me!". I don't know what it is either that makes these things so attractive, but they sure take up a lot of my thoughts and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan. My buddies and I, have very long hard days working in our job fields, the best way for us to escape the monotony, the stress, and headaches of our long days, is to sit down, smoke a cigar for 30-45 min (depending on the cigar) and enjoying the company of a group with 1 goal in mind... Smoking a good cigar while relaxing from another hard day of work. We can't go to the corner bar, there is none. We are not allowed to drink alcohol (near beer doesnt count) and we are discouraged from partaking in the opposite sex. It's pretty limited on how we can relax. We know we can count on a good cigar to help us relax

I love the relaxation aspect of the cigar and I enjoy the taste. It has also become a hobby and like any hobby I like to be knowledgable and I enjoy the collecting of cigars. I have about 700-800 cigars and if I stopped buying today those would last me for a few years so I really have more cigars than I need but I still buy them.

For me the whole image of Cigar smoking was what brought me in; the society and the richness of the culture behind it etc. I like to enjoy things that take great craftsmanship particularly when they are made with such care and detail, things like wine, beer, and cigars. These are things you can really appreciate what goes into them, the time the effort, the various skills and techniques acquired over generations. When you understand what really went into your glass of stout or your Montecristo Media Noche (which I thoroughly enjoyed last night, see my post in "What you Smoking Tonight") only then can you really have an appreciation for the fine taste, aroma and appearance of something so well crafted. It is far from the crudeness of pounding down six Nat'y Ices and smoking a pack of Marlboro lights and that is what drew me into Cigars. You don't hear people discussing the creamy yet peppery smoke of their cigarettes, because cigarettes are garbage!! I have a lot to learn about cigars and the more I learn the more I appreciate and that is what keeps me drawn to such a fine hobby, I guess you would call it a hobby.
