For guys around today, Ron Perlman is pretty cool. James Coburn was the most badass of them all though. Love Hitchcock as well, but he was a writer/producer/director, not an actor (though he has cameos in most of his own films)
clint eastwood doesnt actually smoke anything. he bought some cheap cigars as a prop for characters. He said that he purposely sought out the vilest, nastiest things he could find and the cranky look on his face was largely due to how foul tasting and smelling they were.
According to Clint, the cigars were strictly a device for those Sergio Leoni films and he does not smoke.

I say I say I say jimmmy , Jimmy Stewert... just saw him smoking in Its a Wonderful life! LOL, Then there is Will Smith Popping that Monti Cristo Anniversary Tubo in Independence day, Stalone and Arnold are Gimmes...... The Govenator hasd a Special Tent outside the State House here in Sacramento just for SMoking ... it is said that Most of the REAL DEALS are done there ! LOL
Arnold and Clint are tied but definitely NOT Jim Belushi. When they were in Chicago filming Red Heat, Arnold was real cool with the cops that were extras. Spending time with them between shoots and passing out cigars. Belushi was a jerk. Wouldn't talk to anyone and treated everyone like idiots.
Ron Perlman is great since alot of his roles he tries to incorporate cigars into it and Dennis Haysbert You know Pedro Ceranno from Major league and on the Unit and 24

but he himself is not a smoker. some of the rolls he plays require him to smoke but he does not love cigars.

In that case I'm changing my vote to Kurt Russell. He rocks out in his private life even more than he does in his movies, and he smokes cigars.
