I can't get!!!

So im in the process of getting my coolidor together because the small humi is beyond full...don't worry extras are in zip-lock bags with pillows....just ordered my conservagel beads this morning so they should be here in a few days. My main worry now is ive already washed out the cooler 3 times and it still smells like plastic Ive tried to keep it opened up in my basement cause didn't want to put it outside with the potential snow and ice that we had the past day or so. My question is now should i keep washing it. I think before i will leave for work tomorrow i will put it outside...bring it inside and wash it one more time. After that i dont know though...will the plastic smell change the taste of the cigars. would cedar paper work to help cure the smell?? baking powder????

Baking soda and let it dry in the sun, that should do the trick.

Just wad up some news paper and fill it with that. Leave it in there for 24-48 hours and the smell should be gone. This is what I did and it worked great.

I'm setting up my Coolidor too! My conservagel beads are showing up tomorrow as well as a decent sized order from CCOM so I'm in the same boat. I've never heard of the newspaper method, but that sounds great if it works like ejenne87 says. Hurray fo cheap storage!

Newspaper method works. I usually use wadded up paper towels though.

+1 on newspapers; it's worked for me. I heard from a friend that firefighters use it to get the smell out of their clothes.

I put a shoot glass of hooch in mine for a few days! That did the trick and I kept It going for months one hell of a aroma when I open the coolidor and the cider and spice came out! OBAN 10 yr I beleive/

Newspaper definitely works. Just give it 24 hours and the plastic smell will be gone. It might be overkill but when I wash it out, I use a brand new sponge with distilled water.
