Trump 2012.... Opinions???

clearlysuspectclearlysuspect Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 1,750
So I first saw Donald Trump seriously imply that he might run for president on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last year. This was the first place he openly stated that he was thinking about running. Then they did a whole segment on President's Day of it on two other shows I watch, Donald Trump's Fabulous World of Golf on the Golf Channel and Celebrity Apprentice. Since then, he has been on countless talk shows actually campaigning on the idea seriously and the last 3-4 minutes of the Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump was all about him running for president.

So, what do you guys think? Will he actually run for president? If so, do you think he'll be a good candidate? What party affilliation will he run under, if any? Do you think he would make a good President? What attributes of his do you think the country could use? What are the negative aspects of him as president?

Obviously, I like Trump. He's building some pretty awesome golf courses, I like 2 of his television shows, and I've studied his investment strategies. I'm not sure yet how I feel about him running, but I'd love to see him run and see how he handles himself in the debates and in the campaign. I do know the man is an incredible administrator and knows how to get things done. I like that he knows when to be cordial and ceremonial but he also knows when to pull the gloves off and start swinging. I like that he isn't very politically correct and he says exactly what he thinks.

On the opposite hand, I'm not sure where he would fit in politically and I think he might end up alienated by both sides of the aisle and not be able to accomplish much through the congress. With our SuperExecutive Branch these days, that might not be all that much of an issue. He has stated that he could pay down our national defecit without making a single cut and I haven't really seen a fully drawn plan of exactly what that entails.

Can't wait to see what he brings to the table economically and on foreign affairs if he chooses to run.

You've GOT to be kidding me - PLEASE tell me this is an April Fools Joke!

    bin Laden - YOU'RE FIRED!

Secretary of State Clinton - YOU'RE FIRED! Im replacing you with a more qualified candidate - my daughter Ivanka!

Well, now that I think about it - this idea might have SOME merit after all...

As hot as Ivanka is, she and his 2 sons would run his business while he's president. Says he cconsidered running twice before but had no one to run his company.

You have to be kidding. No sentient being can provide a logical reason why an enormous ego wrapped in the skin of a human would be a worthwhile candidate in 2012 or ever!! No! Not now, not ever!

Guess I ought to quit pussyfooting around and say what I really think, huh?

I think this is a little too dismissive Marty. I'm not saying he'll be a good fit. I'm just saying I'm looking forward to watching him try.

he said he was going to run for president before obama was elected president. Everything he does is from an economical point of view, and also how many times has he gone bankrupt and now look how much money he has?

No I'd dare say we've already reached the ridiculous! A little american ego in the face of all the anti-american crap that we face on a daily basis might just be what we need.

Anyone see his interview with O'Reilly? Crazy stuff.

I'd vote for him over Obama. Heck I'd vote for Hillary's crotch rot's flakes over Obama though. But I think Trump might be good, he's fiscally somewhat sound, is all for small government, and has a big enough ego not to take garbage from any other countries. Exactly what we need.

I saw it and I liked every bit of it. In 2012 I'm looking for the most non-pc, non-apologetic, proud american I can find that will actually defend the constitution and look out for americans and american interests above all else. He showed me a little of what I'm looking for in a president tonight.

I loved what he said on The O Factor. Anything is better than the *** in the white house currently.

I'd vote for trump in a heartbeat. I'd vote for pocket lint over what's passing for potus now.

I'm not going to say he has my vote yet because I don't know who else is running. I mean, I hear Van Jones is available. But I haven't yet heard him say something I didn't like.

    +1 to that statement.
I am not proud, hell I'm not even pleased with the job the POTUS and our congressional leaders are doing.

I must say...while I do not feel I am the raging liberal many here have labeled me.....I did vote for Obama and am not against doing so again (though Ron Paul and Romney catch my ear). But assuming I would vote for him again, I would absolutely love the person he is running against to be Trump....if not him, Palin would be great as well.

Not really. Obummer can't hold a candle to Trump, ego-wise. No, the real ego currently residing in the White House is Obummer's wife, Queen Michelle - and even she can't approach The Donald's level of egotism.

I think it's interesting everyone thinks it will be Obama who anyone runs against. Democrats have been seperating themselves from him by the masses in the last 6-12 mos. He might very well be the first president ever to not get the nod from his party to run for reelection.

Oh, I agree - wholeheartedly. I think they know what a terrible mistake has been made and want to distance themselves from it as far as possible. It's a sad commentary when even your own party doesn't want you, isn't it?

So are those big-ass ears... lol. No seriously, the eye sore is the people that our president surrounds himself with, admittant socialists, communists, big labor execs, open society fundamentalists, and just about anyone else that would love to see the demise of america. How on earth did we get an anti-american president. I can't complain though. I voted for him the last time. This time I'll make sure to do all my research before the election. The more I learn about this clown the more disgusted I am with myself for voting for him. I've come to the conclusion that he is either the dumbest person to try to save the country or the smartest person to try to destroy it. I don't think he's an idiot so I have to side with the second statement.

Dont forget the Islamics that he pals around with, the fact he's not a U.S. citizen, and the monster in the closet he is getting ready to unleash at any moment;)

Oh. No one has forgotten. He's cool with the Muslim Brotherhood. He constantly slams Israel. At this point it doesn't really matter if he's a citizen or not. And I do believe he has 2 monsters in his closet called "social justice" and "big government" that he'd love to unleash.
But this is becoming about why we hate Obama which most of us could talk for weeks on and not about why we like or dislike Trump.

Well, by now you know whai I think of Trump. But let me just say this - I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest guy on this forum. Consequently, I have the benefit of observing more elections than any of you have and I can say, positively, that the best person for the office of the presidency never runs. He's too smart for that. As a result, we're always left with choice of the lesser of two evils. It's been this way since FDR, the first president I remember and I don't expect to see it change in my lifetime.

after reading his interview with o'reilly i have to agree with what trump said. would i vote for him? yes will he run? probably not. this isnt the first time he said he's going to run bc he has mentioned it before and didn't run.

For me, when Donald was on The Factor it was just refreshing to hear someone talk about how we need to step up our international game, rethink how we spend our money and resources overseas, and focus FIRST on America and Americans. Also nice for someone to call the dealings that we have with the middle east and China what they are...TERRIBLE for us. I don't think Don will run either but it sure was nice to hear and hope we hear more of it. As for Obama, only one example can tell you all you need to know: He's the president who quickly stated the police,"acted 'stupidly' in detaining the black Harvard professor but warned us not to "jump to conclusions" regarding Nidal Hasan the scumbag Ft. Hood shooter who shouted "Allahu Akbar" while he was gunning down American soldiers.

True. But he also stated that he wanted to run before but it wasn't practical because he had no one to run his company. He's been training his kids to do this for the last 6 years and states they are more than capable of running the show.
