Cigar half hard, half soft.....

I know that sounds like a personal problem, but I opened a Rocky Patel Cuban Blend yesterday and the half of the cigar near the foot was soft, while the other half at the other end was kind of hard. The draw was hard and spoiled my midday smoke break. Why would half a cigar seem hard and the other half seem fresh and soft?

I had the same issue last night with a CAO CX2. Horrible draw, bad burn. I guess they can't all be rolled properly.

As I understand it, a cigar like that was improperly bunched. When it was being made, it was held wrong resulting in a hard spot near the band, and a tight draw. It happens. Depends on the factory how often, but it happens.

This morning I opened a Cain maduro and the dang thing was hard toward the band end. I am starting to think that they put old sticks that have been laying on the floor in these sample packs.
