That cigar, you know the one everyone is searching for. The one that ends the search.
Everyone know the one I'm talking about. Its the one that you could smoke everyday for the rest of your life.
If you've found it congrats, list it here. If not tell us what you think you are looking for.
Mine:
The new profile I think I'm looking for isn't reliant on body but must be full-flavored. Hints of leather, nut, a little chocolate would be ok and a crisp clean finish. The Sol Cubana Maduro once had most of these but the last few I had weren't up to snuff. The Davidoff Maduro is close but lacks complexity IMO and is outside the price range of an everyday smoke for me.

Both those cigars have something that I love every time I smoke them.
But IDK I shall continue the quest. I think I can narrow it down a little better.
That cigar.... hmmmmmm
i dont think i have a cigar flavor profile that im looking for but am unable to find. i just know what i tend to like. i still like other things on other days. there is just such a huge range and variety to what i like that i dont think i even want to pin it down.
even then, i hesitate to call those my "go to" cigars.
i would call them "box worthy" as in, i would gladly buy a box of any of them.
But not in this case. Both of those are the least favorite cigar in their respective lines. I enjoy the Celebracion but it doesn't feel like a JdN to me. The Airbender IMHO was complete and utter garbage and you know I love LFD. You know I'm not trashing on you kuz just wanting to know what you are getting out of the airball that I missed.
there was s thread that was epic a while back that discussed it. CLICK
the thread starts about the punisher but late in the first page it takes an amazing turn.
how many have you had? did you try the chisel?
ill have to review an airbender soon. ive smoked many of them but i dont think i have reviewed one.
ill probably smoke one today but im unsure on if i will review it.
i think i like it because of the cedar and licorice notes in it. it has a flavor that is unlike any cigar i have had. the flavor is full and mouth coating. there is a roundness to it that makes it feel thick.
I like the celebracion BECAUSE it doesnt feel like an JdN. i do love the antano and the dark corojo but the celebracion stands out even though it is just an antano with a different wrapper. its amazing how a change in wrapper makes the cigar very different.
i would smoke them in this order
Antano
Dark Corojo
Celebracion
Fuerte
incidentally, that is how they are listed on ccoms list page.
its hard to notice the style unless you smoke them all within a week or so of time.
The 4-wheeler is running and the golf clubs are purchased, so I should be back full steam ahead talking stogies.
I tried three but not a chisel. I know the chisel shape turns a good LFD better but I just don't think it can turn an airball into into a flavor bomb.
See kuzi's response, I couldn't have said that better myself. Its very distinctive and the Celebracion doesn't have it. The Antano, dark Antano, Fuerte and that new split wrapper one has it too, it just builds up to it instead of exploding out the gate with it. Personally that one is my new favorite JdN.
that cigar is the one that actually brought JdN into my top three brands.
