I had the day off today and was enjoying sitting on my deck with a cup of coffee and a cigar watching my hens peck around the yard. Our local fox tried to take down one of my hens, in the open not 30 feet from me!!! The freakin' balls on that thing! Anyone who tries to tell you foxes are nocturnal has never lived in the woods. That's two attempts in less than 24 hours by the same fox. Afterwards I could still see him roaming around the forest perimeter, lurking...
