you can go to pet shops and get hygrometers that are designed for inside cages and what not. many of these are remote hygrometers. Do you really wanna open the cage and stick your hand in there with your pet alligator?

this is a very good idea. but I hope someone make a electronic humdifier with wifi, so I can get email alert when it need refill, can check status, etc..
