Anyone else find it offensive that Bloomberg made his most recent, and most stupid proclamations in front of an American Flag? I know I did. What a moron!

So this mayor is trying to make it illegal to sell large drinks?
    How is this even possible?
Welcome to the United Socialist Republic of America?

It will not stop there if we don't revolt against idiocy. The Pleasure Police are everywhere, First it was "Big Tobacco" next up is alcohol and food producers. I think I will eat and drink just what I want to but I still live in a place where men and women control what they do, for now!

This is absolutely right. Not every "slippery slope" is a fallacy, some are freaking cliffs, and too large a portion of our population wants someone else to blame for all their faults. Enter Bloomberg et al. tellin them it's not that we should exercise self control, or be free to make our own choices, someone with more sense than we have should be in control. Makes me sick.

It's only in eateries and the like. You'd still be able to get super gulps at the 7-11. Screws family that like to split the huge soda at the movie theaters.

Ridiculous. Might as well outlaw 20 packs of chicken McNuggets while he's at it. That is some seriously misguided thinking!

He kinda already did. He banned trans fats and forced all eateries to put calorie counts on the menus. Is it really a chicken mcnugget anymore when it's not trans fat and I have to see how terrible it is for me? I think not.

+2 ... outlawing or banning these "bad" things won't fix the problem/cure addiction/obesity/etc.
Perhaps Mayor Bloomberg needs to take a closer look at the failed war on drugs to see why banning something isn't the answer to the problem.

Yep. And they were discussed in the same context. Now, I'd say if these were regular-sized donuts, there is no hypocrisy...it would only be wrong if there were really big donuts...oh wait...yep, donuts that are a foot in diameter.

If you want to check out a report...
