Nice review. Avo is a great brand, I'll have to pick up a 787 now.
Do it....amazing smoke. I've had pretty much the entire line other than some of the LE's. This was the one I had not tried yet and it was fantastic. I really like the classic and XO. The Domaine didn't do it for me and the heritage I need to revisit. FYI....Franks has great pricing on Avo and a good selection at retail or less. I am 99% sure i am going to fire up the classic maduro tonight.
Nice review dustin, this is a line I've been meaning to explore more of and RCY just bombed me with a few that are gonna die a fiery death sooner rather than later. will have to look out for a 787 as well. thanks for posting man.
As an aside: The 787 I had was one I bought for BigT for our newb trade, but didn't throw it in the package at the last moment because it smelled too damn nice. Sorry, Todd!
Which vitola? When I had it I did not like it as much as others, but it was quite some time ago and my palate was not as good. I've found a few smokes that I've revisited and liked after initially not liking them. As a brand, I love Avo and it makes me want to explore the davidoff line that is full bodied.

Really really diggin' the review style Dustin, love how you pull your other passions into the review and the experience using amazing food and amazing music! Although I haven't had the 787 yet, I've had many of the other AVO lines and I would say that the profile and tones you pointed out were RIGHT ON! Loved the read and loved the pics, good job and can't wait to hear another one bro
I am really interested if my allergies affected the review. I'd imagine some is the same, as their thoughts to a degree. I keep all my notes on the iPhone so it will be easy to revisit.
I think we will hear more about it in the next 6-12 moths honesty as the tobacco marrys. For the price, it's worth looking into and competitive at that price point. I still think it is young and needs time to mature, but I slammed it after the first one...and noticed a marked difference. This is a budget Maduro for those that enjoy thick full Maduro cigars, but for some reason I feel age will bring out the complexity. I could be wrong, but it reminds me of the UHC in many ways with a different complexity.
It sure looks nice. I'm thinking if a guy picked up a 5er, then smoked one, put the others away and see how well they set up. May be really surprised. Maduros are funny that way. I've had some that mellow a bit, then some that'll knock your socks off after a year of sitting. Never understood that, but I like being surprised. Definitely gonna be on the look out for these. Especially after seeing where the price is on them.
If I didn't have a shortage of storage space, I'd consider a box. And it's not that I'm a particular fan of the cigar, but that I too feel it will age nicely. If I were to buy a box, the intent would be to put 2 years minimum before even breaking the seal.

Precisely what I did. I think the change is from undefermentsd tobacco, and the oils marrying over time. I personally like Honduran tobacco but I did not think it was overly present in the blend; hence, my guess that age will bring it out. I'll report back on the next one in a month or two when I get around to it.

Like the UHC... The difference is astounding on that cigar after 18 months. I'd be willing to gamble on this one as well
Sounds like a great stick. $15 may be a bit much, but I'll give one a shot if I run across one. Great review.
I am going to grab the regular line and give it a shot. They are a pipe tobacco company that made cigars aimed at the European market. These guys came in a 20ct humidor and were very pricey, but the normal line can be had for 6-8. IMO, it lakced depth in the sweet spot, and when I revisisted my buddy Salem whom gifted it to me, he said the same thing. 1st and final 3rd were great though.
ok so ive noticed a trend lately.evryone puttin up pics of cigars thats great, but also there seem to be alot of peoples feet in them to.or maybe its there sandals there showing.anyone else notice this
