So we closed on our first home today (my fiancé and I), and what's great about it is the house was my late grandfather's home for fifty years. My mother grew up here, I practically grew up here, and soon our children will be growing up here! I'll be lighting up a Padron '26 later as a celebratory smoke. May pick up a good bourbon to have with it.
Cheers everyone!

Congrats. Now you have a reason to work. Taxes, insurances, maintenance, power, water, sewerage, ac, local fees, trash collection, state/county property taxes, etc.
Your tales will be different from everyone else's, but the best thing about owning a home are the stories you'll collect over the years. And it looks like you have a great start.
My first starter home belonged to my grandmother. It was hard selling it. -
