Heading to Berlin for a couple of days

I have to go to Berlin and get a new visa. I have never been and was wondering if anyone that has been knew of anything I can go check out while I am there. I may only be there a day, two tops. I am definately hitting a bar, lol, but didn't know what else might be a hidden little gem. I am starting the trip on Thursday.

Amsterdam is a train ride away. LOL Kidding. I'm jealous. I love Germany. Berlin is a cool city. Take a lot of pictures. Do you speak German?

I do not. I am sure it would come in handy. I am looking forward to a cols beer and good meal, but would like to get out and see some things as well. I am not sure what part of the city I will be staying in, I would imagine close to the airport.

The clubs go all night. Don't show up till 2300 or later. That's when the parties really start. Also, try to remember that you are in a Socialist country. The police with just as soon bludgeon you than argue. Also, if Feld Salad (pronounced Field) is in season, eat as much as you can. It's wonderful.

Not sure I am up for the whole club thing anymore. At this point a nice pub will do. I am not even sure yet how long I will actually be on the ground there, could be a day, maybe three. I will know more tomorrow when I fly to Kabul. And personally, as tempting as the salad sounds, coming out of Afghanistan for a few days I will be on the hunt for the biggest freaking steak I can find.
