If you MUST chew your cigar, I recommend going with a punch or V-cut. Both cuts will allow for maximum chewing. As far as a "better" cigar for chewing, I can't say that I have ever heard of certain brands being better in that category.
He might consider going with Torpedos, as the smaller diameter end might be more conducive to chewing on, resulting in less mashing and tobacco separation.
Punch works good. I don't find one cigar chews better then another other then the fact that a poorly constructed cigar with loose tobacco is going to cause it to break apart more.
