What ever you like man. Preference. They will age quicker/differently out of the Cello. Cello protects them. Also out of the cello they will co-mingle with different sticks flavors. I would search the forums as well.
I unwrap to acclimate fast then put the wrapper back on but I leave the foot open. I tend to like aged sticks but it takes a while to get around to some of them! Also looking at a stained wrapper is a beautiful thing!!
When storing cigars in the humidor should the cellophane wraper be removed
First welcome to the forum rj. Next, opinions vary, I keep them with cello on to avoid damaged wrappers. I even save cello to cover cigars that I get that don't have them. I hate damaged wrappers. A statement I once heard is "store them the way you get them. " that would include if they were packaged in glass or metal tubes, tissue paper or cedar sleeves.
0.... Ive seen and read that people cut the cello at the foot. Now.... did you think the stick was still in the Cello?!?! LOL Ive seen people take the cigar out of the cello and cut it at the fold. It allows for RH to get in but keep the wrapper in good shape. Robgreen and I have Graycliffs with a cello that doesnt have an end.

oh and regarding this thread. honestly for me it doesn't matter. typically, iif it came wrapped. leave it wrapped. if it came unwrapped, leave it unwrapped. no changes in flavor
I take the wrappers off. I like my ladies naked. Just kidding. Many sticks you buy these days don't even come with cello. I like the open air of the humidor and mixing of aromas. But, I don't play with my sticks like a lot of guys do. Buy a box, open it, take off cellos, and put in humidor. Ready to fire. If you are damaging your sticks too much, lay off the booze. LOL. If truth be told, the cellos were only put on sticks so that the sticks could be sold individually, and now with the upc coding, keeping inventory is much easier. I understand why the seller does it. Just my take.
I have some on some off. I just leave them how I get them for the most part. Something about the thought of yellow cello makes me wanna leave wrappers on some of my firsts and bury them under tons of new sticks.
