these 2 pull out drawers turned out great. each drawer is the depth of 3 of my original shelves. my fil just finished and installed them today. all spanish cedar of course........pics arent great

it took about 6 mths from start to finish. my fil had never made one so he learned as he went along. the outer is all oak and everything inside spanish cedar. ive had it 2 yrs in october. once it settled and seasoned it stays spoton at 68 humidity.

I think I've seen that b4, did you post pics a while back? Anyway, nicely done and I'm glad it's holding well. I'd love to build a large in wall humi, though I'm a bit scared to do so. I do find myself good with building but I haven't done it in a long while.

yup, the drawers are new. they increased my capacity big time. the in wall humi is a tough project but can be done if your good. the seal is key. he did a 3 step mill job. it holds fantastic. ive been thinking about a smaller humidifier too. the oasis 2 is over kill.

That is beautiful. Those drawers should really give you a lot more storage capacity. I might keep the top shelf just for show casing your really special sticks.

many thx. i actually use that top shelf for give way stuff. i keep my stuff im resting in the top drawers.

no plans my fil just built it from our conversations and a few pics of free standing humi's i found.,not many manufactured in wall humis out there.

Is the humidor located in an interior or exterior stud bay wall cavity?

Did you seal the stud bay to prevent moisture from "leaking" into the stud bay before construction of the humidor? If you did, what materials were used?

What type of glue and/or caulk were used?

What type of joinery did you use to construct the humidor?

How does the door seal in the humidity?

How thick is the glass on the door, and how did you seal it in the door frame to prevent humidity leakage?
