Humi-Tube?

meppummeppum Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 2
I've seen a few Humi-Tubes online and wanted to know if any of them are any good. I was thinking for a long weekend where I wouldn't have a chance to be near my humidor. Has anyone tried these? Or would a regular case be enough? Thanks

I haven't used those specific brands of tubes, but I have used tubes before.  They work just fine.

The real key for short-term storage like that (cigars to be smoked within 1-3 days after being removed from the humidor) is to keep them away from air as much as possible.  You could use tubes like the ones you listed.  But if you want a cheaper option, something like an airtight Ziploc freezer bag, or a tupperware container would do just fine.

If you're going to be storing multiple cigars on a trip for a longer period of time than 1-3 days, then I would invest in something like a DryMistat tube (link).  They are shaped like a tube, so you can just throw one of these in with your cigars in whatever airtight container you choose (Ziploc bag, tupperware, travel humidor, etc), and it will provide some humidity while your cigars are away from the humidor.

Unless you do this on a regular basis and would need a reusable source you could just throw a water pillow into the ziplock like Kent mentioned. I can get the pillows for about 45 cents at my B&M.
