New Herf-a-Dor

I'm going on a cruise here in about 2 weeks for a week and want to bring a few smokes in my newly purchased herf-a-dor. I was wondering if I 1) need to do any prep before putting sticks in there and 2) do I use the foam humidifier thats in there or just throw a few of the humicare packs in there? Thanks!

Do not use the humidifier, humi pouches are fine. I use a Boveda pack
