Great time to be camping in the high Sierras or Rockies

Out of the last 30 years (when I first became interested in meteor watching), the skies here in the Boston area were cloudy in 27 out 30 on August 11/12 of these years, including the last 12 years in a row.

Finally, last night was clear. I went out for about an hour at around midnight and saw maybe 5 or 6, with only 1 really "bright" one. Huge disappointment.
