So I got a phone call early this morning from mom, she tells me that part of the floor in one of her bedrooms is "missing". I drive the two hrs out there this afternoon and sure enough about 8 sq ft of decking has fallen through the joists, nothing left but carpet! Opened the closet and yep water heater, looks like it's been leaking for quite a while now. Of course I didn't have any plumbing tools with me, shor'ed it up for the night. It's centered on a joist so it will be alright for the night. Guess what I will be doing tomorrow.

As a new homeowner I'm sooooo paranoid about stuff like that. Good luck with the repairs! Wish I lived closer so I could lend a hand.
