It's a never ending battle for me. I signed up for one thing on Facebook years ago and now my junk folder gets 20-30 emails every other day. Before that I never got spam. Just sort and delete my friend. Other than getting a virgin email address but that's a pain to tell everyone which one is correct and keeping it clean.

Fry it up with some pineapple.

...but seriously, what do you use for your email? Should be able to apply some filtering. Also, I maintain a couple throwaway email accounts for registering on random sites, so not EVERYONE has my email.

Yup yup.....I have 2 "active" accounts. Both on Gmail, 1 is my main, 1 is my trash. Gmail has amazing filters, I'll never use any other email client.

use the filters. Are you adding them to Junkmail? Or just deleting them?

I am adding them to junk mail. Doesn't seem to do any good.

I would switch over to Gmail. It's auto-filters will only send emails from your contact list to your inbox. Everything else is filtered out.

Ok, what are you using to access earthlink? Outlook, phone, web or what?
If using webmail access, then use the spamblocker and in the settings, set it to "suspect email setting" and it will filter ALL emails, except those in your address book.
Or you can set it to filter "Known spam", which will filter all KNOWN spammers, deleting them instantly.
If you are using outlook or your phone, you can still log into the webmail and set up the spamblocker.

Once I got bored and forwarded all the spam I got to all the other spammers. Sometimes five or six times.

Feel un-easy about changing over from Earthlink. Did that once before and it was a disaster.

Went into Earthlink mail and changed some settings around, will see what happens. A little worried because even though I mark certain things as good, Earthlink wants to tag them as junk.

There use to be a program called "spam killer" and it would send a message to every IP in the spam. Got more then a few thank you responses from people that did not realize that they had holes in their system and were being exploited. The guy sold the software to someone and it ended up being useless.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
