Actually I can probably shed some light on this ...... As I was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago as a diabetic and being on vacation as I've been regulating total carb intake to 2-3 servings at breakfast and lunch a serving being 15 grams of carbs..... A slice of bread is a carb 1 cup of raw veggies or a half cup of steamed veggies is a carb or a half cup of rice or past is a carb..... I really stuck to heavy proteins during dinner I would skip bread and sweets like processed sweets .... Most of the times I'd have fresh fruit for my carb intake and to get some sugars going to curb the nicotine sickness..... A few times I'd just have a lot of protein and I'd start feeling the cigar so I'd grab a lil treat to help out. A balanced meal with carbs and protein is ideal.
