A buddy of mine and I recently smoked 2 cigars in his garage while working on a car and had no problems. The smoke did not linger around and by the time I left you could not smell any smoke at all. We had 1 of the garage doors open but no fan. I think if you had the door or window slightly open you would have no problem at all.
My garage is large and I try to leave the door open a little. Might smell smoke for the next day but it is gone by day 2. I think I am going to put a space heater out there and just crack the door. I can't believe how cold it is here already.
I do the same thing...I have a one car garage. The patio furniture has to go somewhere, so last year I set up a little seating area and I now have a tv in there. It's a nice little getaway. I'll bring the space heater in there this year.
WOW....I see I am not the only one who enjoys the outdoors with my cigar!!! I was almost starting to think that I would have to resort to quitting until it warmed up again....notttt.... I had been thinking about the garage idea, but was wondering about the lingering cigar smell. But quite possibly leaving the door open slightly and windows open a bit...definitely will have to add a space heater as it gets colder...a small fridge...microwave...32" flat screen...guess I better wait to see how it works first.

Heh, certainly not the only one. I think this weekend I might have time to start adding some insulation to my shed in the backyard. I ran an extension cord out there this week so I could read and smoke, but the temp is dropping even further. With insulation down, next step is to find a cost-effective space heater!
I recently modified a finished downstairs room into my smoking room. I do three things:
1. crack a window and place a small fan exhausting out and cover the remainder of the window
2. Light a smoke eater candle, preferably before I light up to get a head start
3. Immediately empty all ashtrays because those stale ashes smell more than a lit cigar.
I think I am going to improve on the fan idea by building a block off that covers the part of the window that is not actually venting air from the fan, kind of like a fan shroud on an automobile. I read someplace that the secret is negative pressure in the room, that way when you provide a place for air to escape it goes where you want it to go.....outside.
At any rate it works pretty well for me. last week I had two friends over and all three of us were down there for a few hours and two of us smoked two cigars, so there was quite a bit of smoke to clear. There is more smoke detectable with three cigars going but when I smoke alone there is not smoke detectable whatsoever the next day.
I smoke in my garage daily, it isn't an issue. And I only have a small one-car garage. Just open the door for a few minutes when you get done smoking, you'd be suprised with how quickly the air circulates out.
