You can't go wrong with either one but I really like the army mounts that Peterson does. It is the only stem mount style that you can take apart while hot without issue, IMO.
My .02 cents. I have a Peterson Aran and a Nording Freehand, the Nording has a Huge bowl and tends to be a little finicky for a novice like me, it's easy to overload, if and when I do get it right it smokes forever. The Petterson is a lot more forgiving and burns well even if I don't get it packed perfectly. I love the way the Nording feels and looks but so far the Petterson out preforms it
I have been smoking Virginia based areo's through the Peterson with very good results. Had a bowl of Dunhill nightcap in the Nording last night, this is either a ribbon or a shag cut, burned to the bottom with a minimum of relights, only a couple of flakes left when I dumped it
