Buying Cigars In the Dominican Republic

superflysuperfly Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 2

Hi, everyone. I have a friend traveling to the Dominican Republic this May and I've asked if they would pick up some local cigars for me.

They're staying at the Sunscape Casa De Mar in Punta Canta.

Any advise on names, prices, shops close to the resort would greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David

David, Sadly, the cigars you can buy there are the same you can buy here. The difference is the price. Expect to pay nearly twice as much in the Dominican Republic. I wish I had an explanation for this, but it is the truth. A lot of tourists there get swept up in the romance and the local places take full advantage. I would advise saving your money and buying them here in the states.
