You see there were a couple of camp cooks, (not too bright) and they were told to go on ahead and start the fire for the evenings dinner. They decided that the fire they would need to cook enough for all those troops would have to be so big that it would just be too much work.
They came across this nice wood framed building that nobody seemed to be using (at the moment) and they decided that it would be the perfect size for the required fire. The rest is ugly history.
Oh, and by the way... the dinner was ruined... they burned the steaks.
