on a side side note, I killed 25 chickens at my friend's ranch this past saturday. we had 4 guys doing it. defeathered them. gutted them etc. I have a greater appreciation for meat now.

Last night I dipped into my only bottle of Wild Geese Irish Whiskey that I brought back from the Emerald Isle. I love that stuff, but can't get it here in the States.

It is a very young whiskey, and it tastes of it. Definitly needs a splash of water, and a few minutes to breathe before imbibing to let it mellow somewhat.

Just had a pint o' Newcastle with a La Traviata maduro. Not as great of a pairing as i was thinking it would be.

Now on to a couple of MILLER LITES for a nite cap.

Hit up Total Wine tonight and picked up a few different things. Tried the A$$ Kisser Vanilla Pale Ale. Very good. A bit of pine / citrus / vanilla in the beginning, sounds odds but it really worked for me and a blast of vanilla bean at the end. The finish is nice and it feels and tastes like you just ate a wrapped caramel. I suggest pouring it in a glass instead of drinking out of the bottle. The closer to room temp it gets the more caramel you get.

It is from A** Kisser Ales based in San Jose CA. Really opens up when poured in a glass.

Thanks for the info, Todd. I'll be on the lookout for it at the local stores that carry specialty, micro brews.

Only a growler? About a growler and a half is when things start going bad for me; especially when it is a nice Brown Ale.
