...and are current economic state would probably be worse off if Obama hadn't taken office.
cant prove that; heck, you cant even provide a single shred of data to support that claim. this argument is invalid.
Nope I cant, that was posted as my believe, just as no one could prove that if someone else took office we would be in better shape.

we have lost about 31,327 man and woman
link me on this number please. according to snopes the number is way lower. around 8 thousand. and according to The Associated Press on Thursday, February 19, 2009 US military deaths in the the Iraqi war were at 4,245
Sorry I thought I edited that, I meant to say 31,327 wounded and about 7,500 deaths.

terrorist attacks on the world have not gone down if anything they have gone up.
please back this up with data.
I know that wikipedia is not the most complete source but it does have a good list of attacks around the world. Start going through the years before 9/11 and the years after. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents#1970s.E2.80.932000s

PS. You shouldn't use FOX as a source, even FOX makes fun of how biased they are.
again, back that up with the link where they do so.

    also...
they are conservative. but that does not mean that everything they say is a lie. conservatives are not monsters. liberals lie too. FOX news is just as Valid as any left-leaning Obama-loving network.
Both Sides lie, *** everyone lie's if someone had used Democracy Now I would say that they are also biased, I was just pointing out that FOX is way far right so try and use a source that is more in the middle if you want the left to even think about reading the article or watching the news cast and vise versa.

"Sorry I thought I edited that, I meant to say 31,327 wounded and about 7,500 deaths."

This is still not right because the number of deaths is less that 5,000. And Wikipedia is not an acceptable source because things can be posted by anyone regardless of if they are true or not. Now tell me the number of successful number of Terror attacks in our country before and after?

"Both Sides lie, *** everyone lie's if someone had used Democracy Now I would say that they are also biased, I was just pointing out that FOX is way far right so try and use a source that is more in the middle if you want the left to even think about reading the article or watching the news cast and vise versa."

You still didn't prove that FOX does or has EVER lied about anything. If you don't trust them it is because of your own bias and that is not my problem. If you choose to ignore the facts just because you don't like who they come from then that is a very narrow minded view point.

As for proving that FOX lied about anything, I give you that if I watch FOX news I probably could remember some thing they lied about but I don't and I have a feeling if I went out a searched the sites that I would find that have "proof" that they lied you would not except as a valid source, and I would blame you for that :)

i was looking for the actual link that fox makes fun of itself for being biased like you stated in the original argument. maybe a youtube video or something along those lines. im not saying they ARENT biased. i think they are too. they are just biased in the exact opposite of many many news sources out there.

i dont think any new source "lies"
i just think they chose to cast various lights on subjects.

its impossible to be 100% objective when reporting the news.
    why?
because people are involved. every single person has an objective. newscasters are not exempt from that.

Thanks, you just proved my point 100%. You don't watch FOX News so you honestly have no clue what they say. If you honestly had a valid news story about it and not some crap off of moveon.org then I would look into it for sure. But in all honesty, you can't say Fox lies, you just don't like them. You just proved that you are too close minded to even try to see any other point of view. I do on occasion love to watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and NBC news. I like to see the left's point of view as well. I may not agree, but I do watch and I do trust them to report facts, I just don't agree their opinions they add. There has NEVER been a valid news story about Fox News Channel intentionally lieing about any political story. For you to say they lie is in itself a lie.

    thats an interesting chart.

im not sure that the iraq war causes terrorism.
corelation and causation are often confused. im not sure if that is the case here.

iduno. im moving more and more to the mindset that war should only be used as a defensive measure. to me terrorists are the worst type of combatants. they prey on the civilians... children included.

this also brings up the thought of "detainees"
i cant remember who asked this but ive been thinking about the moral implications of it a lot:
Much discussion of the interrogation of captured terrorists ignores the inescapable reality of trade-offs. The real question is: How many American lives are you prepared to sacrifice, in order to spare a terrorist from experiencing distress?

im not 100% on the validity of the war in Iraq. there were mistakes. but it could have been worse.

I agree, it my not have been the war in Iraq but it is on the raise, luckily its not as bad as it was from 70's through the early 90's. As for war, I also agree war at this point is only good as a defensive measure, but I don't think invading someone elses land as being a defensive measure until there is no other choice.

Not a cheap shot, mearly an observation. And no, I honestly don't know anything about DemocracyNow and I wouldn't comment on them or their reporting unless I did watch them AND had some kind of facts. Although after this I am looking forward to checking it out. And you still have not proved one thing that Fox has done that was't honest. It's easy to spout off claims and accusations without anything to back them up. Hell I could say Obama is a gay midget porn star but that doesn't make it true... But it would make him being president a LOT more funny!!!

    Okay, an observation.

I'm surprised you have not heard of Democracy Now, what left media do you read/watch to balance out your right?

Okay, in my opinion they lie, the extrema biases spin they put on most of there coverage my not be a straight lie but it is, again in my opinion, a way to redirect people into thinking one thing where they would think a different thing if the full story was told. They twist the truth more so then most news company's.

Puro---I love your rants my man and want to pose a question to you. I used to write a ton of blogs on myspace, but as I have gotten a little older (wow Im near 30) and have less time with 2 babies, I rarely get to anymore. I would love to do something like that on here and get a little debate or opinion going with people on some things I like to write------HOWEVER, I see you already have something like this here....and pretty damn good might I add. My question to you, out of respect, is if you would mind if I posted an ongoing subject like yours with some rants, takes on life, funny ideas, or just absurdity that drives me nuts? I totally understand if you want the monopoly of this type of chat on here as you were here first and people like your stuff. Please let me know if it would bother you if I did this and/or if anyone would like something else similar. Mine would be a bit different from yours, but not at all meant to compete or steal any of your thunder. Thanks for your time and love your stuff.

Obama signs new credit card law into effect feb 2010 ? Credit Card Accountability , Responsibility and Disclosure Law. No one under 21 will be able to get a credit card unless they have a co-signer or proof of income to cover the debt. What the ...when I was in banking this was just sound lending policy ...now we have to have a law passed to make sure a loan being made can be repaid (a credit card is a loan) ...no wonder the banks are failing left and right ...jeeeez !!! I am amazed by the lack of common sense/ignorance in the business community today :( ....

i just read an article on this a bit ago. you may find this interesting.

The Police and Laws Are No Substitute for Moral Values

    Small excerpt:
To see men sitting whilst a woman or elderly person was standing on a crowded bus or trolley car used to be unthinkable. It was common decency for a man to give up his seat. Today, in some cities there are ordinances requiring public conveyances to set aside seats posted "Senior Citizen Seating." Laws have replaced common decency.

    very good observation.

Overkill much? I personally despise the IRS. It's clear that the only purpose they serve is to screw people over. You know, I read somewhere once that the concept of an organization like the IRS is unconstitutional, which pretty much makes the IRS illegal. Apparently, there was a loophole though. I'll have to try and dig that up. Someone else here may know what I'm talking about though.

I am literally on the phone with them now. I can't stand that I owe them money. It's not just the IRS, it's this administration that wants to take as much money as possible. They believe all this money is theirs, not ours that we have rightfully earned. They 'give us enough money to survive on then the rest is theirs to take. Take...as in by force. You are not given the option to pay them, they take and then you receive. At some point there has to be a revolt...FAIRTAX! Where is John Galt?

I'm sure someone will post a link, but I do believe that it use to be a long while ago, then I think do to WW2 or maybe the vietnam war taxes began to be a part of life. It has got a bit out of hand, I think all of us would be fine with paying 10 percent or so, but it's when taxing becomes an everyday thing, hell I'm sure we'll see a water tax and AIR tax. One thing that has been happening here in Oregon is a new beer tax. We have a huge amount of micro brewerys here and a lot of them are small in size. Well I do believe it is like 5 cents or 5 percent but there is a bill that will raise that and there is debate on whether it will be passed to consumers (which seems to be what the fricking alcohol bill did) or on the manufacturing....? Though we have some of the lowest beer taxes in the nation, but it's just another example of keep raising money through taxes instead of bringing revenue from making things.
And something that has been somewhat a hot debate here as well, the corporate minimum tax is 10 dollars here, and there is a bill that would raise that to I think 150 and beyond which is almost passing or has passed but a democrat after meeting with business leaders opposed it as he stated he would only support it for four years then it would have to go back but now I think it passed now that the funds would go to the "rainy day" fund. I find it rather wrong that I pay about 10000 dollars a year or more in taxes but Nike or Microsoft only pays around 10 dollars or so. I know that Nike paid 10 or 15 dollars last year as it was all over local media. PGE, an electric company around here paid about the same thing.

Oh, I guess the new health bill passed yesterday or this morning for us here, and though I think it's a good thing, what scares me is that it is putting another 45,000 kids and 30,000 "low" income adults in the Oregon Health Plan. The thing that scares me is the "low" income thing. I think everyone should get health care but if the "low income" thing is anything like what it is for getting into school or apartments then it's not going to help working people as most working people make min wage or just above it and they will make too much for the "low income" state especially if someone is married. I'm just speculating but I do know that my best friend works the same job as me and we make about the same amount but his GF is a student with 2 kids and she is able to be on the Oregon Health plan but if they got married she wouldn't be able to get it as she would then be no longer under the "low income" status. Which is why they haven't gotten married. So it seems to me with the current guidelines that there is no option to get away from private health care. I'm in the same boat, I had being under their friggin umbrella. I wish I could be under the Oregon Health Plan, much better and easier and not expensive.

This is totally insane and just shows how much money our government pisses away to nickle and dime us all to death! The IRS has got to be one of the MOST CORRUPT organizations our government has ever created!

In trying to find a link, I think I might have misspoken. It's not so much the IRS, but their practices that are illegal. I wish I could back this up, but I'm having a hard time finding it. I can't remember for the life of me where I read it. I agree with you on the corporate tax. A lot of those guys have billions of dollars in revenue, but pay ten bucks. On the other side, you have an average person with a job, trying to support a family, who pays some ungodly amount. How that makes any sense at all, I have no idea.

I agree with the first half of this 100% Phobic. the government for YEARS both republicans and democrats have been trying to tax us to death and it's really getting old. That beer tax you were talking about will be paid by the consumer because the company will raise prices acordingly if it is put on the manufacturing.
The 2nd half I agre with you for the most part, I'm not sure about those figures in how much the companies paid because I haven't read anything about that. I just get sick of people blaming the companies for using tax breaks. People that complain about companies using available tax breaks shouldn't be allowed to take ANY deductions becaue they are doing the exact same thing. If they want it to change then gripe about the laws, not the companies that are just following the rules set down by the government.
