Ok so I've had a number of people ask about mine as well so time es-plain Lucy....
When I first joined the boards I had only ever really smoked or been involved with cigars through my Pops and Grandpa and had just been smoking out of their humis or buying singles here and there for years. Was very much wet behind the ears and thought that a cigar was only good if a company rated it 90 or above (Hahahaha MAN talk about being wrong!!!!) I was lucky enough to always smoke pretty dang good stuff out of Pops' humi and most of those sticks were getting 90+ ratings in Cigar Aficionado etc etc. so I figured I'd add that as well as Irishman since that is my heritage. Family immigrated from Ireland years and years ago when we were the Gainer Clan and left our hometown of Gainerstown that had been named for the patriarch (at that time) of our family.
As for the picture, that is me on my wedding day since we got married on horseback at the top of Elkhorn Mountain in Estes Park, CO. Parents took that shot as we left the ranch at the bottom of the mountain and the wrangler guided us up. Just the two of us, the wrangler and the judge that met us at the top. Great day
Comes from the sideburns and leather jacket days of early rock and roll. If a couple was really cool, they would be described as ' a bad daddy rabbit and his mean mother hopper.' Early slang. The avatar is a salute to the favorite album by my favorite band, 'Dark Side Of The Moon' by Pink Floyd.

Where in Texas?
Elkhart. Piney woods of east Texas
Beautiful area, east Texas. And from Elkhart, you're not too far from either Dallas or Houston. Heck, if you really want to live the good life, you're not too far from Louisiana. LOL.
And I'm inclined to agree with you on your favorite album choice. You are one bad daddy rabbit.

To meet BDR and The Beat? You bet!
Get some folks to meet on this side of Houston traffic, and I'm all game. There are some BOTLs at Fort Polk (alienmisprint-Tony Ezzel) and in Galveston (Jimmy James - JJ20030). You probably know more than I.

There was a line in a song by the Racontuers that went "he was a loser with some blue tattoos that were given to him when he was young" I identified with that line given that I have a couple of old tattoos that have blued with age. My avatar is my other passion auto racing.
have always liked the history of the Knights Templar, used to play in a Delta Force Squad, and DAoC guild as T~Knight, but kept getting people asking me if I was a real Templar or a Mason, (you would be surprised just how much I would get asked that) so I changed it to HonorKnight7, the 7 because well its my favorite # I like the old stories and the history about Knights being Honorable and dependable (so why the "Black Knight avatar you ask?) found many years ago and just liked it, have been using it in games and posts since 2001 when DAoC started
My username is my username that I use to log into all of my school stuff so it's kinda just become a universal username for me on forums and such. My avatar pic is of my yellow lab Jackson.
WELL!!!!!
Since you asked; Way back in 97 when I could finally afford a computer, I needed to set up a e-mail address.
I was starting to lose my hair, and the guys at work were busting my balls about it.
I had a full mullet, and a thinning top "o" head.
One of the wiseass's I worked with made a joke," hey what did you do to your hair? did you try the flowbee?"
Well, it was all over from there, I swooped on that name, and I have had it ever since.
Only story behind mine is J for first name Martinez last and 10 is Football Jersey # - "Original"???? Probably not. Still trying to post avatar but having difficult time doing so. But when I do it'll be of 2014 Sugar Bowl Champs......... OU Sooners!!!!
I hate coming up with usernames. Can't ever think of anything clever. Signing up for the CCOM forum, Puff_Dougie was the first thing that popped into my head. The picture is just an old photo I found online, but the kid in it actually looks like me when I was that age, and since my two great loves are books and sticks, it was a no brainer.
Well, I've used a ton of different handles over the years but my most recent "fad" has been this current one; I drive a red 2006 Subaru WRX, so red-rex(wrx)-(20)06.. nothing too special. I chose my avatar to be Robert Downey Junior with a cigar cuz I actually look like the guy when I have my hair grown out. Being military, that doesn't ever happen these days.
Awesome thread, just read everybody's stories
Well, about 15yrs ago when I started using my first internet "handle"...it was the "leet" alphanumeric type. I still use it some places, but it didnt seem like a good fit here.
I decided to use "New Boots" because that's a term I use to refer to the new guys around work. So, me being new to Cigars...it seemed a good fit.

By the way we are pretty sure it was looted after the tornado. If by chance you ever see one the serial # ended in 0039.

Curits - my middle name, which is what I go by
Cr - the first two letters of Critchfield, my last name
79 - the year I was born.
Since then have used it as my username at most forums.
